A season of fond memories, fun, splashing water, making boats and enjoying a little cool climate after the scorching summer heat. Monsoon is a beautiful season, we all enjoy those drizzles of water, and so do our kids’. Don’t they? As beautiful the season, so is the problems that come along with it, if aren’t considered carefully like water contamination, sickness, seasonal change, this season is also an invitation to many diseases. So, enjoy but do take care of your kids’ too.
Observe what you eat and drink- Kids’ digestive system becomes prone to infections during the rainy season, to maintain a healthy diet, prevent them from eating outside food. Give them vegetables, salads, Vitamin C enriched food, chicken or vegetable soup, lukewarm milk etc. as they help in keeping them away from catching cold and other harmful diseases especially related to the digestive system.
Clean homes & surroundings- As the rainy season is a wet season many small flies and insects will also be attracted. To avoid fungus and moulds, which can cause breathing and other allergic troubles, it’s better to keep the house clean and dry. Always keep in mind to use antiseptic liquids and cleaners for the floor.
Wear Smart- Even though its monsoon season, it’s better to dress smartly and avoid any troubles related to seasonal sickness. As it rains often, temperature drop can be a problem, so for small babies, it’s better to carry blankets along. Cotton can be a better option with full sleeves as its light and comfortable. If you have babies at home few things should always be considered such as diapers and socks as they can cause cold and cough in kids.
Mosquito Alert- These little blood-sucking beings can cause serious threats to our health if didn’t take care properly. Try putting mosquito net or repellent patches to avoid mosquito bites. If there is any stagnant water body near your surrounding, try clearing out those as well.
